Anyways my review:
I became addicted to this masterpiece album a while ago after listening to "Can't Get You Out Of My Head". I'm lucky that I found it for a low price at a used DVD/CD store! Anyways, here's a short review I did of the album (copied from my GagaDaily review).
I omitted the party where I talked about how I discovered Kylie because I didn't think it was relevant for this blog posting (maybe a different post?)
Overall, I enjoyed the disco influences and the ability to make it sound modern and fresh (along with some futuristic sounding songs).
1. More More More - 7/10
Fun, disco sounding song. It does get a bit repetitive after a while though.
2. Love At First Sight - 8/10
The first sounding electro song on the album. It's so catchy and good! And the end reminds me of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love".
3. Can't Get You Out Of My Head - 9/10
It sounds so futuristic (even today!). The chorus is catchy that I Can't Get It Out Of My Head.
4. Fever - 7/10
I find the instrumentation to be annoying. It's not really that catchy. But I do like the lyrics.
5. Give It To Me - 6/10
I always skip this song because it's so annoying! What's with that ringing phone instrumentation? I do like the lyrics though even though the song sounds a mess...
6. Fragile - 7/10
I guess this song can be considered the ballad considering it's slower than the others. But I don't know... I don't think it works well this album at all...
7. Come Into My World - 8/10
The beginning reminds me of "Can't Get You Out Of My Head". It even has "Na, na, na..." as some of the lyrics. But it futuristic-sounding and very catchy despite those similarities. Also, I think the US version of this song is different from the UK/other versions. I don't know it anyone else noticed that...
8. In Your Eyes - 8/10
Party! The song is sooooo good and catchy! I sing along to it every time it comes on.
9. Dancefloor - 8/10
Sounds very disco-ish/modern. I don't know hot to explain it. It's very good though and it works well.
10. Love Affair - 8/10
I always confuse this song with "Love At First Sight". But I like it, it's very catchy, and I think the lyrics are very clever like, "Close your eyes so you can see."
11. Your Love - 7/10
It's catchy and it's cute. I guess this one can also be considered kind of a ballad...
12. Burning Up - 8/10
It's so catchy! And everything about this song is perfection!
13. Boy - 6/10
What a mess. I don't like anything about this song. No strong chorus or hook.
14. Butterfly - 8/10
Previously on the Light Years album. Anyways, I think it's catchy and a very good song!
